Play Your First Ukulele Chord in 60 Seconds (No Experience Needed!)

R
Instructor Ray Banks

Think learning an instrument takes weeks of frustrating practice? Think again.

You can actually play a beautiful, ringing chord in under a minute. Here is the dead-simple, 3-step method to playing your very first chord:

  1. Position Your Fingers: Look at the chord diagram. Find the bottom string (closest to the floor) and count down to the third fret.
  2. Press Down: Place your finger directly on that fret and press down firmly to get a clean sound.
  3. Strum and Shine: Sweep your thumb or index finger across all four strings at once.

Boom! You just played your first chord (a C Major). It really is that easy to get started.
