Riptide EASY Ukulele Tutorial in 30 Seconds

Want to play Vance Joy's massive hit Riptide, but short on time? You're in the right place.

In this 30-second crash course, I'll show you exactly how to master the song. To get started, you only need to know three simple chords: A Minor, G, and C.

The main strumming pattern is incredibly catchy. Just repeat: Down, Down, Up, Down, Up for the entire song until you reach the bridge.

  1. A Minor (Am): Place your middle finger on the 2nd fret of the top string (G string). That's it!
• 
  2. G Major (G): The classic triangle shape. Index and middle fingers on the 2nd fret, ring finger on the 3rd fret.
• 
  3. C Major (C): The easiest chord! Just place your ring finger on the 3rd fret of the bottom string (A string).

What about the bridge? When you get to the bridge section, drop in an F chord, and change the strumming pattern slightly to: Down, Down, Up, Up, Down, Up.
