About this Lesson
What's up YouTube! Welcome back to Ray's Ukulele where today we're going to be learning to play "You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story.
I'll be straight with you, this song has a lot of chords (15 in total!), but this is based off my favorite cover and I think these are the easiest transitions you can play for this song. If you struggle, just try playing it once a day for a week and I promise you're going to nail it!
Strumming Patterns
Because there are so many parts to this song, we have a few different strumming patterns depending on the section.
1. The Verse Strum
It repeats this way for the entire verse. It's a longer pattern, so take it slow.
2. The Bridge Strum (Island Strum)
The bridge changes up to the classic Island strum.
3. The Intro Strum
The intro is actually one of the trickier parts. It finishes off with a nice chuck!
